Do I need a license in order to drive the boat or yacht?
Boats and yachts featured on our websites are charter boats, meaning that they are captained only. Should you want to drive the boat yourself, you will need to find a boat rental company that rents bare boats. The boat rental company may require that you have a captain’s license or may administer a test to make sure that you have sufficient knowledge on how to handle a boat. Additionally, they will most likely require a deposit to cover any damages that may occur. Miami or Bahamas waters can be tricky and we strongly suggest that you charter a boat with a captain.

How many people can your boats accommodate?
In most cases, the size of the boat will determine how many people the boat can accommodate. Another factor to consider is whether guests will sleep overnight or if the vessel is rented as a day charter. We give suggestions that may vary from manufacturer to manufacturer and by type of boats. Please ask your boat rental specialists for an accurate answer.

Following are basic size allowances:

30 feet: 6 - 8 people
40 feet: 10 - 12 people
60 feet: 14 - 16 people
80 feet: 16 - 20 people

Can we eat at waterfront restaurants?
Miami and Fort Lauderdale have plenty of Miami restaurants accessible from the water, however, access may be restricted due to limited dockage space. It is a good idea to try to make reservations and request dock space in advance. Most docks available at restaurants cannot be reserved and are only available on a first-come-first-served basis.

Avoid going out to the open ocean during windy conditions. Request to stay in the Intracoastal Way which is calm in almost all weather conditions. You can also buy very effective motion sickness bracelets or drugs.

Where can we board?
Boarding usually takes place at the marina where the vessel is docked. A request can be made to be picked up from a different location. In most cases, Marinas charge for the vessel to pick up guests. Boat operators often have a good relationship with local marinas and can get away without paying a "pick-up fee". The other option is to fuel the vessel at the marina and have guests board at the same time. Arrangements should be made with your boat rental specialist.
